“Attract[ing] widespread attention for his natural, virtuosic command of the viola and his mature, impassioned musicianship,” (Western News) Christian Wrona brings a breath of fresh air to the classical music scene. In recent years he has made appearances at Zeistmusikdaagen, the Kronberg Festival, the Juno Awards, is a multi-awarded prizewinner of foundations such as the Sir Edward Walker Dorothy Isabella Trust, London Music Foundation, the Maritsa Brookes Competition and has been a recipient of patronage from Daniel Barenboim performing in the excellence concert series while studying at the Hanns Eisler Berlin. Since then he has been invited to perform globally in Canada, the US, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, China, Philippines at venues such as the Philharmonie Berlin, The Beijing National Center for Performing Arts, La Maison Symphonique Montreal, and the Palazzio Consoli Gubbio Italy. A strong believer of outreach and giving back to the community, he is currently a Musethica artist and also performs regularly pro bono in social institutions such as Hospice, Schools for Special Needs and Rehabilitation Centers across the globe.

Having graduated from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under the tutelage of Annemarie Moorcroft, Mr. Wrona fully attributes any sort of success to the great mentorship he has had along the way. Previously studying with Steven Dann at the Glenn Gould School and Sharon Wei St. John at Western University, he has also had the opportunity to learn from artists such as Tabea Zimmerman, Lawrence Power, Maxim Rysanov, Nils Monkmeyer, Hartmut Rohde, Wilfred Strehle, Timothy Ridout, and many others. Mr. Wrona also studied chamber music at the Universität der Künste Berlin under the guidance of Vineta Sareika and holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario where his artistic studies were funded entirely by the Gordon Jeffrey Foundation.

Above all else Mr. Wrona enjoys playing chamber music with friends. He has shared the stage with Ensemble Made in Canada, The Gryphon Trio, The Cavani Quartet and has performed in various ensembles in young artist festivals across the globe. He has also performed with L’Orchestre de la Francophonie, The Detroit Civic Orchestra, The National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and was a member of Staatskapelle Halle (Saale) and Landestheater Detmold. Mr. Wrona has also appeared as a guest soloist with the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Western Symphony Orchestra, Huckleberry Festival Orchestra and had the honor of performing at the “Farewell für Tabea Zimmerman,” sharing the stage with his teacher Ms. Moorcroft in 2023.

Passionate about outreach and community, Mr. Wrona has also organized projects such as a benefit concert to aid in the relief of the Super Typhoon Haiyan Devastation. With friends from the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Windsor-Filipino Community Centre, CBC Radio One and Global Medic, $74,000 was raised towards the cause. In 2025, Mr. Wrona and the Hikari Quartet collaborated with Veronika Hagen and the Musethica foundation to give a series of 12 concerts across 5 days in various social institutions throughout Berlin, including hospice, care for the disabled, and women’s re-entry facility.
